What is the difference between polyjacking and mudjacking?

Polyjacking injects expanding polyurethane foam through dime-sized holes and cures in minutes. Mudjacking pumps a cement slurry through holes three times larger and cures in one to two days. Is polyurethane foam strong enough to hold up concrete?

Structural lifting foams are available in different densities and compressive strengths, and the same class of material is used beneath highways and airport aprons. What are foam jacking, poly leveling, and slabjacking? Are they different services?

Mostly marketing vocabulary for the two core methods. Foam jacking, poly leveling, and polyurethane lifting all mean polyjacking. What season is best for concrete leveling in Amarillo?

Does drought cause concrete damage even without any water problem?

My neighbor's slab heaved up. Is that the same problem?

When is a slab too damaged to lift?

Do cracks mean my concrete cannot be leveled?

No. Cracks are common in settled slabs and each resulting section can usually be lifted and realigned, often leaving joints tighter than before. Cracks rule out lifting only when they have divided the slab into pieces too small to raise as units.

Should I level an old slab or just wait until it needs replacing?

If the slab is sound, leveling now is almost always the cheaper path, because settlement compounds: voids grow, cracks spread, and tilted slabs feed water to their own base. Do I need to be home during the work?

How soon can concrete be used after the repair?

Many polyurethane lifting foams cure quickly and can allow the slab to return to use much sooner than replacement concrete. What do the patched holes look like afterward?

Aftercare

What should I do after my concrete is leveled?

Can a leveled slab settle again?

It can if the cause keeps operating, which is why drainage correction is part of every serious repair conversation. Foam itself will not compress or wash out, so recurrence almost always means water or soil movement beyond the treated area. Address the cause and the odds shift heavily in your favor.

Can I seal or coat the concrete after leveling?

Yes, and it is a good pairing. Once the slab is stable, a penetrating sealer slows freeze-thaw surface damage, and joint sealant keeps water out of the base. Wait for patch material to cure fully, typically a few days, before coating over the ports.
